WebP for website photos
Try WebP for photos and banners, then compare detail and size. Use PNG when you need lossless output; its quality slider is disabled because it does not apply.

Choose a useful output
Start with the size your website actually displays. A huge original is rarely needed for a small product card.

The width and height settings are limits, not a crop. A 2400 × 1200 image with 1200 × 1200 limits becomes 1200 × 600. Smaller originals keep their dimensions.
Check product labels, faces and fine textures. Encoding can sometimes produce a larger file, especially for an already compressed original. The report shows that honestly.
Optimized files are one part of a faster site. Responsive image sizes, caching and loading behaviour still matter. Use the website health check to review a live page.
About this tool
No. This page processes files in your browser and keeps them in memory while you use it. Clearing the batch or closing the page removes that working copy. Your original files are unchanged.
Yes. Choose up to 20 images and optimize the batch with one set of settings. Download each result or a ZIP containing all successfully processed images. ZIP packaging does not further compress the image files.
The accepted inputs are JPG, PNG and WebP. Animation is not preserved: animated PNG or WebP inputs become a still image. SVG, HEIC, GIF and AVIF inputs are not supported. Browser encoding support determines which output formats are available.
No. PNG output uses lossless encoding of the resized image. Resizing still changes pixel detail. For adjustable lossy compression, choose JPG or WebP.
Do not rely on this tool to preserve original metadata, camera details or colour profiles. The browser decodes and re-encodes the image, so colours and metadata may differ. Keep your originals for print or archival work.
