Commercial property website launch checklist

Before launching a commercial property website, verify the information prospective occupiers need, the route to a real agent and the ownership of future updates. This developer checklist suits UK commercial property and US commercial real estate teams. It is a practical review worksheet, not a certification.

By Hasnain Qureshi / Karachi, working remotely with UK and US teams.

Start with verified property content

Confirm the official property name, address, available suites, area units, images, floor plans and brochure. State the unit explicitly rather than assuming every visitor reads square feet or square metres the same way. Show a last-reviewed availability date and assign an editor who can keep it accurate.

Floor-plan images should be accompanied by useful text about suites, areas and access. Check that the brochure link works on mobile and that the document content has been reviewed by its owner. Do not publish approximate areas, tenant names or ownership claims without approval. Download the launch review worksheet.

Inspect the frontend and enquiry path

  1. Review a desktop and narrow mobile viewport. Check navigation, floor plans, document links and the main action without relying on hover.
  2. Test the form with missing and invalid fields, a successful submission and a failed request. Confirm entered values survive errors and the agent receives the notification.
  3. Confirm who can edit availability, replace a brochure and preview changes. Give the editor image-size guidance and an escalation route.
  4. Inventory existing URLs before replacing a site. Review redirects, canonical URLs, indexability and the sitemap together.
  5. Record a baseline and the next review date. Examine intended queries and enquiries, not only the total page views.

Relevant portfolio contributions

My Cambridge Research Park case study describes an attributed frontend contribution to a UK property project. The 1540 Broadway case study describes frontend work for a New York property website. These examples show implementation experience; they do not mean I owned every design decision, campaign or commercial outcome.

I work from Karachi with remote UK and US teams, including London businesses. Use Website Feedback & Redesign Planner to mark an existing property screenshot before discussing commercial property website development.

Reference and review limits

The industry SharpLaunch property website checklist also discusses plans, tours and availability as useful property content. The owner-assigned worksheet here is original. Search performance, accessibility and legal content need their own evidence and review; completing this list does not guarantee rankings or enquiries.

Review your property website scope
